Austrian conductor Christoph Campestrini maintains an active international schedule, conducting both symphonic and operatic repertoire all over the world.
He has conducted many renowned orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Moscow Tschaikovsky Radio Symphony, Frankfurt Radio Symphony, RSO Radio Orchestra Vienna, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, Bruckner Orchester Linz, Seoul Phililharmonic and National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan.
From 2012-2024 he served as Music Director of the Oper Klosterneuburg Festival Vienna, leading acclaimed productions such as "La Boheme", "Don Carlo" "La Triviata", "La forza del destino", "Rigoletto" and "Les Contes d`Hoffmann".
Since 2016 he has been conducting at Vienna`s historic Hofmusikkapelle, performing sacred music with the Vienna Philharmonic, Vienna Boychoir, Male Choir of the Vienna State Opera.
He has led more than 120 opera performances of various repertoire at the Aalto Musiktheater Essen and also guest-conducted at major international houses, including the Teatro Regio Torino (Italy), Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf (Germany), Minnesota Opera (USA), Opera de Montreal (Canada) and Sakai City Opera Osaka (Japan).
In North America he has appeared with important orchestras such as The Philadelphia Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Vancouver Symphony and the National Arts Centre Orchestra Ottawa.
A new center of his activities now leads him annually to China, where he conducts orchestras in many different cities and teaches master classes for conductors and youth orchestras.
Christoph Campestrini is also a composer of song sycles, chamber and symphonic works. A passionate linguist, he speaks German, English, Italian, French, Spanish, Russian and Croatian.
